Future tense – will

Reading

(c)    Activity:

Last week I introduced the future tense to the class. I asked them to tell me some questions about asking about our future summer holiday. Then I showed them how we use the verb “will” to talk about something that is going to happen.

I will write what will you do … on the board. Then I will ask everyone to tell me a different version of the same question. I will explain that the future is the opposite of the past but just like when we use last… or yesterday the future uses NEXT… or tomorrow.

We will read the exciting places to visit on page 18. I will point out the new vocabulary as we find it.

Before starting Oxford Storyland we will review the new vocabulary from the previous reading lesson. There were some big words such as hemisphere and equator also earth and planets. Then I will show the class a globe and explain about the northern and southern hemisphere and how we have opposite seasons. Finally, we will continue reading.
