Monday.
Textbook reference: Words taken from Longman textbook (all 4) First Unit
Focus: illness and remedies, using 'when'
Activity: Dictation Test. I will read out sentences and students to write into books. Students were told what                  words are going to be used last Thursday. Words include Easter, Christmas, festival, celebrate,                  harvest, have to, married, prison, soldier, emperor, castle and several others the students chose                  themselves on Thursday. Second Class to be spent correcting mistakes fixing any                  misunderstandings.
Homework is to write out misspelt words set number of times.

Tuesday.
Textbook reference: Reading and Writing Skills
Focus: Festivals and Traditions in China and abroad; Writing a letter; If...? sentences
Activity: Reminding students about what they said last week about their favorite festivals have students                  write a fictitious e-mail using the template on p20. My favourite festival is... because... I also                  like... Read the story about the family planning what to do during xx festival and the Father                  planning how to spend it. Students can answer comprehension and critical thinking questions in                  book and can discuss as a class perhaps to create a few more questions. On p23 students think of                  a list of things to do if there is some problem during the holiday. IF you are tired i will... if you are                  thirsty.... students will be almost tired of writing by this, the near end of the second class so                  encourage some (written) silly answers. p24 for homework.

Wednesday.
   Textbook reference: New Reading Book

Focus: Reading For pleasure; Finding New Vocab; Reading and Comprehension

Activity: Students will be given and can begin to read new novel together as a class for first lesson                  stopping several times to ask questions about plot and perhaps reflect on events (how would you                  feel if your friend did that? have you ever seen.... etc) (This was originally slated to start last                  week but had to be postponed.)Second class is much more about comprehension with me writing                  8 to ten comprehension questions on board and students answering in sentences in notebooks.
Homework is to finish questions, to read one more chapter and write a short review of what happened.

Thursday.
   Textbook reference: All
Focus: Spelling words from throughout the week, Revision, Creative writing, sentence variation
Activity: Students have kept a log this week of words that are new to them; request students to volunteer                  words/phrases and these will be the words that are for the test on Monday. Students compete for                  which words from list have been used most creatively and/or most correct. Some words are from                  sentences using a template so that students can learn correct use and sentence structure.

Second class can be used if everything has been done all week on students performing a short                  play on various themes(s) shown in textbooks and discussed this week. The short shows are a                  good way for students of different abilities to help each other and the weaker students to gain                  confidence standing and speaking in front of the class as well as stronger students taking                  responsibilites.

Homework is to write majority of these words into a short story.Emphasis on ,FANBOYS.
